Automatic charging, that is, when the AGV needs to add energy, it automatically reports and requests automatic charging, commanded by the ground control center, and goes to the designated charge area or platform. The vehicle charging connector is automatically connected to the ground charging system and charged. After charging the battery is completed, the AGV car is automatically separated from the charging system and run to the working area or the standby area. The automatic charging AGV is suitable for long time work, less cars and automation.

Contact charging means that all charging circuits need to be connected by a cable and a charging contact to connect the vehicle to the power system so that it can be charged directly. Contact charging can provide a large charging current for fast charging. At present, it is the first choice for off-line charging. But it is not suitable for frequent random charging, there is a charge contact wear, need to be replaced regularly. There may be sparks in the charging process, and there are potential safety hazards. In addition, because the charging contacts are bare parts, they can not work normally at low temperature condensation, humid, flammable and explosive conditions.
Wireless charging is a non - contact charging device. It does not need to connect the vehicle to the power supply system by cable. It abandons the charging contacts, the charger and the electronic device can achieve non conductive contact exposure. The wireless charging technology makes the electrical isolation between the charging terminal and the AGV energy storage system fundamentally eliminate the disadvantages of direct plug-in charging. It is safer and more applicable. At the present stage of the AGV wireless charging product, the charging efficiency is comparable to the charging efficiency of the contact battery charger. Because of its non-contact wear and high intelligence, it is very suitable for online charging. To do it completely is to be filled, that is to stop. It further improves the automation level of AGV usage. But its technology is complex and its cost is high.
